Every holiday at the Beamsley Project is different, just as every family, group and occasion is unique. Whether it’s time away together, a chance to try something new or a special occasion to celebrate, we want everyone to feel comfortable, relaxed and able to make the most of their time together.
Hearing from our guests is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Their kind words mean a great deal to us, and it’s wonderful to know that Beamsley has played a part in so many happy moments.
With many guests returning year after year, we’re proud to be a place where people can come together, celebrate life’s special moments and create memories to treasure. Their feedback inspires us to keep making the Beamsley Project a place where everyone feels welcome and where individual needs are understood.
We invite you to read what our guests have to say below, explore our gallery, or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Euan’s Guide or LinkedIn for more stories and updates.
If you’d like to experience Beamsley for yourself, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with Sarah through our contact our team page to arrange a visit.

What did you love about Beamsley? "Everything! This is by far and away the best adapted accommodation we have ever used! The factilities you provide are exceptional, everything is provided from the lift and wet rooms to the gloves and wipes etc. The cottage is very clean and in an excellant condition. The staff are very approachable abd understand the additional needs of their guests. We highly recommend the accommodation and are already looking forward to booking again next year - Mr & Mrs Simons - Sept 2026
"We’ve been returning to The Beamsley Project for 20 years now - for both individual breaks and group stays in the Cottage and the Centre with members of our community group, Exclusively Inclusive.
For us, The Beamsley Project isn’t just a place to stay - it’s where community comes to life. The facilities and adaptations are excellent; you’d be hard pressed not to find accessibility needs met. But it’s more than that. It’s about the relationships built over years, a wonderful team who could not be more welcoming and accommodating, and the setting itself. Nestled in beautiful Yorkshire countryside, The Beamsley Project gives us freedom, safety, and space to be fully ourselves.
Last summer we created a Fabulous Festival of Friendship and Fun. Every day was packed with opportunities: Japanese drumming, Kinball, anthotype printing, archery, Celtic crafts, moonlight walks, relaxation and meditation, cooking and dining together, even pizza-making. Everything was homespun, created by and for each other - and open to all ages and all abilities. Everyone was included.
In December, following a suggestion from one of our summer guests, we returned for Christmas at The Beamsley Project. We celebrated Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day across one joyful weekend, beginning with a family carol evening. On Christmas Day morning, we each wrote a speech and shared them after our festive dinner, when over thirty of us dined together in laughter and good cheer. Across the weekend there were parties, wreath-making workshops, movie nights and more.
What makes The Beamsley Project truly special is the personal attention of the team. From the very first booking to the support during our stay, they are second to none. Always keen to seek feedback and make improvements - whether that’s sourcing new equipment to help individuals, or gathering ideas about local activities and amenities to share with future guests - their care makes all the difference.
For some of our members, these weekends are the highlight of the year: a chance to step away from routines, be part of something bigger, and create memories that last.
The Beamsley Project helps us do what we do best - try new experiences, build friendships, celebrate each other, and enjoy wonderful times together." Exclusively Inclusive - Group Centre & Holiday Cottage - 2026
I am a teacher who works with pupils with disabilities and SEND needs, ranging from profound and complex needs through to mild learning difficulties. I have also supported adults with disabilities through a sport and disability group, so I have seen the importance of accessible, inclusive opportunities across a wide age range.
I have been taking pupils I teach to The Beamsley Project for over ten years, through different schools and organisations I have worked with. The pupils I have taken have included young people with a wide range of learning disabilities and learning difficulties, from those with extremely complex needs to those with milder difficulties. This has given me direct experience of how well Beamsley can adapt to very different levels of need.
I cannot speak highly enough of The Beamsley Project. They are caring, supportive and genuinely committed to meeting the needs of the people who use their service. They provide excellent facilities which enable a wide range of pupils to access residential opportunities that may otherwise be very difficult for them. They are always keen to understand individual needs and make the experience work for the group. During Covid, when some parents were understandably anxious, Beamsley were flexible, understanding and supportive, which helped us continue to offer pupils a positive and safe experience.
The impact on pupils has often been long-lasting. Past pupils I still see continue to refer back to their stays at The Beamsley Project, which shows how meaningful those experiences were. Beamsley has enabled us to give pupils a safe opportunity to experience a level of independence away from home that many would not otherwise have. Pupils have been able to take more responsibility for themselves, including cooking, personal care and managing parts of their daily routine.
The community and social side is also huge. Beamsley gives pupils the chance to mix, integrate and be included as part of a group, but within a safe, secure and supportive environment. For pupils with learning disabilities, this kind of experience is incredibly valuable because it allows them to practise social confidence, community participation and independence in a setting where their needs are understood.
Pupils and schools like ours need these experiences. In my view, opportunities such as those provided by Beamsley are as important as the academic side of education, because they develop confidence, independence, life skills and inclusion in ways that cannot always be achieved in a classroom.
I would strongly recommend The Beamsley Project Charitable Trust - Simon Jones - Titus Salts Resourced Provision Teacher - June 2026

"The team at Beamsley have been so helpful, they have explained everything and made sure we had everything we needed. We were surprised with the equipment that was available. There was nothing needed that wasn't provided. Our group visited Hesketh Farm which was lovely and very wheelchair friendly. We packed for everything we would or could need but it was amazing when we arrived that there was everything we brought and more. Feels home from home and loads of space for our young people. We are already planning our next visit." Nidderdale Children's Resource Centre - August 2023
